I am a new follower here after being sent over from Sew Adorable Fabrics. This next year in the first month we’ll have all sorts of things from my birthday and me hitting one of those ‘big’ numbers and five days later will be my twins’ 28th birthdays which really makes me feel old. And after that because of all the things we’ve had going on in our home for the entire month of December we are going to do nothing unless we want to. Hubby and I need a rest from all the stress. lol As far as the rest of the year, I will be starting out by the end of January working on Christmas 2014 gifts. I want to be totally done with all my holiday sewing by July and then those things I must buy will be picked up every two weeks so we can be totally done with all gifts other than perishable items by Thanksgiving. The month between Thanksgiving and Christmas I want no stress this next year in December at all. I hope I can stay on this schedule, although it doesn’t sound too bad. It’s totally doable and I have been purchasing lots of Christmas fabrics now while at clearance prices so I should be good to go.

This fabric would be awesome to win because it could be perfect for one of the quilt alongs I’m considering doing as well. It’s beautiful. Thank you for the chance.

I sat down this morning and wrote up my list of WIP’s to work on in 2014. There are eight of them not counting the 4 BOM’s that I am involved in. The worst one is a flimsy that is from around 1977 or 78. It is a quilt top that I made for my youngest daughter (she’s 37 now) I thought I had finished it when I did the other one but I found it when I was unpacking stuff when we moved here to Mexico. It’s embarrassing to even admit that. I hope to get back to embroidering and combine the two. The very first quilt I remember was embroidered blocks alternating with pink solid ones from when I was under 10. Thank you for the chance to win the beautiful bundle.

  121. Terri Herman says:

I would love to finish quilting the quilt I started for my daughter as a college graduation gift. I had no intentions of making her a quilt but then in Feb before her graduation she asked for one. We went to our favorite mega fabric place, Mary Jo’s in Gastonia NC, and picked out all the red, white and black -NC State- fabrics. I began on it shortly after, designing a simple block pattern with a large block about 1/3 of the way from the top with NC STATE embroidered across it. Well, she graduated in spring 2011 and promptly got engaged in July! Moved to begin med school in August with a wedding in October! So, with all the moving and wedding, it got put on the back burner. Then she asked if I could make it a queen size. Geeez! This has been an adventure! It is now a queen size and ONLY needs to be quilted. Sooooo……

    • emily says:

Kids are an amazing blessing, but they sure do require a lot from us! Good luck with the new queen sized quilt, and congrats on raising an amazing girl!
