I’m really excited to introduce my upcoming fabric collection to you~ Rosecliff Manor!  Anyone out there every been to the Newport Rhode Island mansions?  They are an unbelievable collection of historic mansions that have been restored by and are maintained by the  The Preservation Society of Newport County.  I highly recommend a visit if it’s ever possible!

Well, my family had the privilege of visiting them last summer!  Rosecliff is one of the most amazing estates~ it’s really in the vein of a European palace.  The mansion was commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles. After the house was completed in 1902, at a reported cost of $2.5 million, Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainments here, including a fairy tale dinner and a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini!   Scenes from several films have been shot on location at Rosecliff, including The Great GatsbyTrue Lies, Amistad and 27 Dresses.

It is this beautiful black & white mansion Newport that has inspired my Rosecliff Manor fabric collection!  Here’s a sampling of the collection~

The grey and white is gorgeous and would be perfect as a backing on a grey and white chevron quilt I am working on. The width of 44″ is too small though. Is this print possibly made in a 108″ width?

    Fingers crossed! : )

Hi Karrie~ Thank you for the compliment! Unfortunately this print is not made in 108″ wide. Darn it! Good luck finding something that will work for you!
